Today we went to a birthday party for our friend Matt's son Alex's birthday. Alex turned 6 and he gave me 3 options for his cake. He wanted either soccer, space, or legos. I thought that a lego cake would be awesome, so that's what I made. I did a quarter sheet cake and decorated it with fondant "legos". Alex loved it! Happy 6th birthday, Alex!

How did you make the legos?
I just made a regular cake and then cut fondant in rectangles to put on the sides and top of the cake to give the illusion that they are actual blocks. Then I cut the circles out of fondant with a small cookie cutter.
Wow. Alex’s birthday was fabulous. You know I am an event planner and I will also host a fun rustic themed party on my daughter’s sweet 16th birthday. It’s her desire to have a grand party so I will also be booking one of the most suitable LA venues for this bash.
